Freedom

Published by under Uncategorized

I know that Iranians just got there freedom back to the internet. But what I want to talk about are North Koreans. You never really here about North Korea except for when they have done something to their nuclear weapons program. Sometimes reporters from the U.S. and other countries go into North Korea and never come back. The peopple of North Korea are very devoted to their leader and the way they show that they are loyal, sometimes ends up in fear. These people usually aren’t allowed out of the country unless they really have to. The U.S. helped South Korea from being taken over by China and North Korea and communism. So now both of the countries are allies. I am just glad that I live in the U.S.A. instead of the communism of North Korea.

End of the School Year Challenge

Published by under Uncategorized

My blog has upped my communication skills because I got to hang out and talk with my friends more instead of just five minutes between classes. I only have a few of them in my classes with me too. Plus I got to express my feelings about things more. I think that blogging could become an intergal part of my school’s cirriculum because we can be allowed to express ourselves just about any way we want to. Thus our friends can see the true side of us. I don’t know if I’ll do another challenge. It depends on how much time I get in the summer. I am supposed to be working all day long at my house. But I think that I can squeze some free time in on the weekends. I hope to see you all next year!!!

This Comming Summer (Yippy)

Published by under Uncategorized

There are so many things that I’m looking forward to this summer! But now is the time to reflect on this past school year. This year seems to have gone by fast for me. But there were times that I did think that the day, year, or even hour, would never end. The biggest surprise for me this school year was Mrs. Losch. I had Ms. Seestedt last year as my math teacher and when I walked into Mrs. Losch’s classroom this year, I thought that Mrs. Losch was Ms. Seestedt. A whole state of HUH? came to my mind. It almost looked like Ms. Seestedt had a twin. I know that this might sound kind of disgusting, but I broke the record for Gym Clothes Going Longest Unwashed. Now that might sound gross, but holding a record in our school means something. I just wish I’d know what that something is. The wackiest moment was when I ran into a basketball pole chasing my friend in football. It knocked some of my braces loose and I was on the ground with a headache for the next five minutes but other than that, I was fine. The only thing that I will miss from seventh grade is that some of my friends are leaveing to different states. The only reason why I am looking forward to eighth grade is that I am one step closer to High School Football!!

Recycling in My Family

Published by under Uncategorized

Every summer, I go ti my Aunt’s place in Utica, that’s by Detroit. During the time that I am down there, my aunt and I go to the store and recycle her pop cans. We usually make a profit of about $20 to $30. It cost about 10 cents per can too. One thing that my aunt and I can do to help the enviornment and our spending budget is to stop drinking as much Mountain Dew! But the good thing with my aunt and I is that WE recycle all of the cans that we use!

Volunteer for Various Jobs

Published by under Uncategorized

This holiday for Austrailia is about people volunteering for different jobs that might neeed help but can’t afford it. This relates to me because I have volunteered for my local zoo, Potter Park Zoo. I just love exotic animals and I saw that Potter Park Zoo needed some volunteers. I have also volunteered coaching for my sister’s soccer team. Even though I wasn’t an official coach, the head coach looked like he needed some help. I think that volunteerism is a googd way to get to know other people and build character!

Snowboarding in the Olympics

Published by under Uncategorized

Snowboarding has been an Olympic sport since the 1998 Olympics. The first person to win a gold medal in the snowboarding event was Ross Rebagliati from Canada. The person to win most gold in the snowboarding event is Philipp Schoch. Personally, I thought that Shaun White was the personn to win the most gold medals. But it turns out that he has only won 1 in the 2006 Olympics. But he flew by the rest of the competitors with a score of 405!! I have also found out that The Flying Tomatoe (Shaun White) is worth $3.2 million U.S. dollars (ask.com).

Question: Waht kind of Olympics are your favorite: Summer or Winter?

Some of the Best Snowboarders (From My Point of View)

Published by under Uncategorized

Some of the best snowboarders, well that I think are the best, are Shaun White, Jake Burton Carpenter, and Shaun Palmer. Shaun White has won Olympic medals left and right and a couple of trophies in the winter X-games. Jake Burton Carpenter was a good snowboarder back in his time. Now he is the founder and owner of the snowboarding company Burton. Shaun Palmer was and is something like a daredevil of the X-games. He is still snowboarding and has taken up on the sport of dirtbiking. Out of all these people though, I would say that Shaun White would have to be my favorite.

Question: Who is your favorite athelete?

The Origin of Snowboarding

Published by under Uncategorized

There was a man named Mr. Poppins who looked out across Lake Michigan in his hometown Muskegon in the state that I live in, Michigan. It was winter though, and he saw his daughter and friends standing up on their sleds and going down the sledding hill. So he was thinking about surfing and his daughter standing on her sled at the same time. Then he immediately went into his garage and found an old pair of skis and bolted them together and gave them to his daughter the next day to try them out. After a couple of hours, his daughters friends came over to his house and started asking Mr. Poppins if he could make them a pair of bolted togther skis. When Mr. Poppins wife heard about these bolted together skis, she called them a Snurfer (snow+surfer). A couple years later, Mr. Poppins opened up a business where sold these Snurfers. That was the first snowboarding manufacturing business that the world has ever seen. Being a snowboarder, thinking about the first snowboard and snowboarding manufacturing business being invented in my home state it makes me proud.

Question: Do you come from a country or state that snowboarding is widley spread and do you snowboard?
